There is an exciting new Production Initiative emerging from the Jewellery + Object Design Department at the Design Centre, Enmore. Developed in order to take the work of the students directly to the public and to showcase their talent for design and technical skills, the Production Initiative commenced in 2007 with the inaugural product
being an egg cup, unique in design and perfect for every breakfast table. It has been joined in 2008 by a sleek, geometric pin and matching earrings.
All products are made in house by the Jewellery and Object Department staff and the students are responsible for the marketing and promotion of the egg cup as a part of their Professional Practice class.
Each product is produced as a limited production run in order to make the release of a new product something that the design community looks forward to each year. The long term goal is to build up a range of jewellery and objects as a part of the Production Initiative, in order to promote both the talented students and the Department.
