Studio 20/17 Bridget Kennedy, Melanie Ihnen and Ross Buchanan established Studio 20/17 in February 2008 as a workshop and venue for contemporary jewellery, objects and photography. Jewellers Bridget and Melanie both work in the studio, creating limited production series, commission, exhibition and conceptual work. Visitors to the space are able to see the work in progress. Bridget has completed an Advanced Diploma of Jewellery and Object Design at the Design Centre, Enmore where she was awarded the College Achievement Award 2005 and the Jewellery and Object Design Award (access residency) 2006.
Whilst undertaking her Advanced Diploma in Jewellery & Object Design at the Design Centre, Enmore, Melanie was awarded a Foundation for Young Australians Scholarship and in 2002 she was awarded the College Achievement Award. Melanie has also completed a residency at Pyrmont jewellery studios and received a Craft in-Site grant through Object, Australian Centre for Craft and Design to undertake a two person exhibition with fellow alumni Samantha Mays. Bridget and Melanie’s work is placed in galleries throughout Australia and they both exhibit widely.
