Queensland Boulder Opal Association, Queen of Gems Competition 2009
First Place went to Nadine Binder – Stage II Jewellery Trade
Nubilis
Nadine’s design features a boulder opal centrepiece, surrounded by thin sliced doublet opal fragments, white gold swirls and tsavorite cabochons.
Designed to accentuate the elegance and sensuality of the female form, Nubilis uses the stones with repetition and intricate swirling lines to suggest the colour and shape of a peacock feather.
